What do you use to seal downpipes to header?

Hi.

As title really, whilst doing some other bits and bobs on my bike one of the downpipes was loose so it had to come off/apart. I think it had been stuck with gungum or similar.

I would like to put it back on / together to get it ticked off the list, however the carbs are not on it at the moment so I can't rely on the engine heat to cure it.

Cheers.

Shouldn't need anything other than a new gasket and correct fitting.

Thanks.

It's got a 4 into 1 exhaust so I've got four new copper exhaust gaskets for where the downpipes bolt onto the head.

Do you use anything for where the four downpipes go into the exhaust silencer itself?

Bit of jointing paste

Don't laugh but I always use a tube of black silicone kit to keep the gaskets at the head in place and for sealing downpipes with gaskets and downpipes and collector. But only a moderate smear or taking the tubes out of the collector will be a pain...

Cheers.

Any recommendations for any jointing compound that goes off well without engine heat?
