clutch switch wires
My Zed is coming along nicely so far, have now managed to fit a new harness and new switches to the bars but boy,was it a pain or what, really thought it was gonna be plug and play, not like the lucky buggas with the z1,z1000s have separate wires.......anyway,i finally managed to sort it,everything now works but,the clutch switch ??...where do the 2 black wires connect to ??...i know i should just tuck them away and be done with the switch but ITS THERE...lol,and being a finnicky bastard, anyway,i just aint got no more wires to connect to ??...does anyone know?

Re: clutch switch wires
Not sure about a Z1000 a2 but on 650's with a clutch cut out switch they go to the two black wire female bullets in the big bundle of connectors under the tank.
If they are not connected you can't turn the starter motor
So you would need to connect/bridge the two under the tank to eliminate the switch and allow the starter to work.

Re: clutch switch wires
Maybe your new switch gear is somewhat "universal".
or is 650 not 1000?

Re: clutch switch wires
the two black wires must be all ready be connected together as the starter wont work if you just disconnect the switch

Re: clutch switch wires
switches arew from z power,so totally er right, but i did point out to dave the wiring from the switches was nothing like in there pictures, thats why it took 3 days for me to sort out the wiring, talk about annoyed, cos i was told it was basically plug and play?...same colour wire to same colour....yeah right..anyway,i have now got my clymer manual,(haynes is a bit useless)...and its got the proper diagram showing the 2 black wires,1 to the start button switch,1 to the start relay (solenoid),gonna rig up some wires and have a go..like when it stops raining...

Re: clutch switch wires
oops, meant "new" from z power,anyway...sussed it...1 black wire goes to the black wire off the r/h switch...unplug the black wire from switch, plug in to black from clutch..female from harness what the r/h switch was plugged into goes to other black wire from clutch...sorted..
