Hi All, I'm dealing with all the butchered wiring on my newly acquired A4, the regulator (under battery box) has had the wiring butchered badly, so my question is should I replace it with the same unit or upgrade to a combi regulator/rectifier? if the later any suggestions for best place to buy. Second question, I have the same issues with the wiring with the stator, but I saw a replacement cable on one of the websites (Zpower maybe) how is this connector to the stator? any special tools needed.
Many thanks Phil

Re: Voltage regulator
I replaced mine with an electrex world reg/rec, not the cheapest but better quality than most, you can buy the complete stator, or cable but you have to crimp the wires and sheath them.
Re: Voltage regulator
Worth trying Ralph he has some good prices on electrical products and stocks the electrex reg rec

Re: Voltage regulator
Definitely ditch the standard regulator in my opinion. 40+ years old and made to last 10, fried wiring and battery if it goes wrong and overcharges (which is usually how they fail). The Devil's work, get rid.
