Tacho needle wobble

Hi Guys.
I've got a problem with my Z1b's tacho. At idle it's pretty stable, but the more revs i put on, the wilder the 'swing'. Iv'e been told that the tacho mechanism is oil filled and this oil damps the needle's fluctuations? The oil apparently escapes over time causing the needle to oscillate. It's pretty annoying, especially next to the rock steady speedo needle. If this is the reason, can the mech be overhauled? If so, does anyone have a contact that they can pass on? Or am i potentially looking at another issue?

I take it you have already fitted a new tacho cable as this is the first place to look.

Invariably this will be caused the damping fluid within the unit drying out.
