Help Identifying Electrical Part

Just trying to sort my electrics, and noticed a part unplugged from the loom.
The part resides on a rubber mount under the nearside coil. It looks fairly manky so probably needs replacement. Only wrinkle is that the bike has been converted to electronic ignition if that makes a difference to needing this plugged in. Wonder if any of you fine chaps know what it is…

It's the brake light outage (failure) switch.
It activates an idiot light on the dash if the brake light bulb blows.
Not needed.

having said that , I suppose its a safety feature so you might want to have it. Up to you. The mounting rubber sleeve often looks cracked and wrinkled due to engine heat.

I'm very grateful for the Cabal's knowledge. Saved me scratching my head for a considerable while.
At least I have now identified the poor connection which is causing such a voltage drop on the sub-loom to the bars/headlight. Despite the plug appearing in good order, and despite using copious quantities of contact cleaner, voltage on the main loom side is 12, whereas it is 10 downstream. Only to be expected on a nearly 50-year old bike I suppose, but I have been 'surprised by the amount of loose bullet connectors...

If you need to replace it, the ones I have listed do the same job, just a little bigger, and new
