My front tyre is rubbing the mudguard slightly on the offside (it has the correct width tyre fitted), and I have noticed on close inspection that the wheel is offset in the forks very slightly. Wondered if this was common, or if a spacer has been misplaced.

Something is not rite the wheel should be central in the forks

Disregard. Think I have now found out how to shift the wheel sideways by spindle adjusters. Unfortunately, have a slight buckle, so off to the wheel rebuilders it goes….
