I'd always use OEM for head and base gasket and use a decent aftermarket for everything else.
Avoid the repro complete set from Z-Power as the quality on those is shocking now. Really thin and poor shaping. Last set I used just didn't seal properly.
Athena are good in my experience.

Keyster rebuild kits & carburettor spares - airscrews, jets, needles, starter plungers & gaskets.
Also petrol/ethanol proof float bowl gaskets. IMD pistons preferred seller.

Hi Steve

I'm using Vesrah, the complete set with the O-rings, always a good experience.

+1 for Vesrah, with the exception of their stem seals which have got worse in my opinion. Vesrah made many of the oem gaskets for bike manufacturers in Japan and still do as far as I know.

I'm current assembling my engine with a Vesrah gasket set. The quality looks quite good to me. I've also have OEM base and head gaskets that I'm saving for best. I carefully compared the Vesrah and OEM head gaskets and they appear almost identical. The only thing I noticed is that the OEM head gaskets have what appears to be a thin clear silicone (type) coating on the outer corners where the holes for the outer studs/head oil feeds are positioned. The OEM gaskets are eye wateringly expensive.....

Thanks for the replies. Am I right in assuming the o rings at the bottom of the barrels are 73mm x 2.5 x section ?
