Large Shim tools.

#1 PostAuthor: BAFF1960 » Wed Nov 15, 2023 1:29 pm

Hi.
I don't expect to be shim adjustments that often on my B2 but was looking at getting a removal tool anyway. Any body had experience with these?

Hello mate;

Yep, got something similar, except mine has a knurled grip instead of the ball on that one. Works just fine once you get the knack; top tip is to either make sure your hands are free of oil, or wrap a bit of blue roll or similar around the grip so you can get a good purchase. Oh, and don't accidentally put the w-shaped bit of the tool in so it JUST rests against the top of the shim rather than the top edge of the bucket, and then wonder why you can't pop said shim out...

1977 Z650B1 - I'll get round to putting it back together one day...
