Hi anyone had any indicators re- chromed that have done a good job that they can reccomend not sure what they are made of but used to be what we callled monkey metal

Hi,

I’ve had two sets of genuine Kawasaki indicators re chromed, one set from a Z1000A1 and one set from a Z650B1.

The Z650 set came out much better than the others and I think it’s the case that the less corrosion/pitting you have, the better the finished item will be. The ability of the polisher to get into the difficult areas whilst buffing is also important so if they are badly corroded, especially in the corners then I’d forget it. The die cast zinc based alloy does corrode with deep pitting which is very difficult to get out.

Below is a photo of a 650 indicator and these came out ok.
