Hi have now owned 2 UK registered from new Z1B,s build date about April/ May 1975 and both have had the grab rail with the extra bracket for the indicators.
Anyone owned a UK Z1B bike from new or still does that has this.

The Z1B on the cover of “Sunrise to Z1” famously had this type of grabrail. Whatever pice of bullshit legislation made Kawasaki decide they had to do this abomination it must have come just a the end of Z1B production so a few of them had it and then it was rolled out properly on the A4 and subsequently Z1000. Horrible bureaucratic lash up. Not true to the original Z design. KH500 got this treatment too.

The grab rail with the indicator mounts were introduced to prevent frame damage caused by the indicators being mounted directly to the frame

I heard that also but given the metal the indicators were made of I’d have thought they’d have snapped pretty sharpish.
