Bike lift

#1 PostAuthor: haydnw@mac.com » Tue Feb 27, 2024 6:34 pm

Is there anything out there that I can use to lift my Z1b to make working on it easier?
I know that a hydraulic ramp is the ideal but I don't have space for one.
Is there something else that will lift my bike to a reasonable height for maintenance - I'm thinking something on the lines of the Abba Skylift that would work with a Z1b

I used a Hydraulic short stand which I can use in the shed if I move the bikes around a bit. Or.... more recently, rebuilding the Z1000 in the dining room :D

Something like this -

I have a 1jac stand for sale which lifts both the front and rear wheel off the ground. It has adapters for Z1000j, I am sure it could be made to fit an earlier model.

That looks like it might work I don't suppose you have a picture of the stand without the bike do you or the make/model of the stand?

"That looks like it might work I don't suppose you have a picture of the stand without the bike do you or the make/model of the stand?"

I think it was a Constand - have a look on the Motea site site here:

Sorry,
Another dumb question - did this set up work with the exhaust on the bike?

In the picture I posted the bike couldn’t have an exhaust on because the frame rails were supported directly on the lift deck. It comes with supports for the frame rails which are like long bolts with angle irons on the top. These are intended to give clearance for bits like the exhausts, sidestand, footrests etc.

there's a member selling something on here at present that might suit - might have to modify the fitting kit to suit
