Hi Everyone.
I have a 1976 Z900, when I bought it there were Kawasaki Alloy wheels fitted and a Disc Brake rear.
I bought a pair of wheels with original rims, and set about installing everything.
New Hub, New Spindle and Spacers, New Rear Sprocket and Bolts New Brake Shoes and so on.
I have had the bike checked out and a New MOT and everything was spot on.
Now the problem.
As I ride the bike I have a Faint Click or Tick sounds like the rear end, So I have just changed the Chain.
But No Difference.
I am running out of ideas, has anyone had anything like this before Please?
If you have how did you cure it? or does anyone have any ideas Please?
Regards Dero

Re: Clicking around the rear of the bike
How often and when does it click?
Every revolution of wheel, going over bumps pot holes etc, cranked over round bends?
Could put it on main stand start engine and put into gear to hear it

Re: Clicking around the rear of the bike
My Z1000 A2 had an issue like this a few years ago.
It was the drive chain catching on the (standard plastic) chain guard. The noise was surprisingly loud and for a while I was convinced it was something mechanical.
I removed the guard - applied heat - twisted the guard slightly to sit more perpendicular.
Refitted and it's been fine since.
Hope your issue is something simple like that.

Re: Clicking around the rear of the bike
Put it on main stand, spin the wheel by hand to see if it clicks, if it still does remove chain and spin again if it still clicks remove brake caliper, still clicking bolt heads catching or bearing problem. That little lot will eliminate the rear end of drive train.

Check for loose spokes
