Have a terrible noise from clutch when trying to pull away at anything above tickover .when it's rolling the clutch is fine no slipping cable is adjusted as per manual.
All plates / springs were checked and were in spec prior to building the clutch
Any ideas what is causing this please is driving me up the wall.

Short of hearing it or a much better description of noise it's pretty much impossible to tell from here, but you may have broken springs in the basket, sticking plates, even loose sprocket.

are you running car 10-40 oil instead of motorcycle 10-40? Car stuff has more friction reducers, and will contaminate the friction plates so the clutch plates will slip more and maybe screech.
Or maybe 1 plain plate has overheated and warped

it is possible to inadvertantly put the last couple of plates on the wrong side of the slots , take a look if im wrong so be it, if im not you can move them round one slot and the noise will cease , what do you have to lose ?
