ND clocks damping

#1 PostAuthor: Z newbie » Sat Aug 03, 2024 11:13 am

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum having only just bought my first Z1. It's a 1974 Z1A and I'm really pleased with it. Can anyone recommend someone in the UK that can restore the damping on the ND speedo and rev counter?
The needles are all over the place when I'm riding!
Cheers
Phil

If the clocks have been stored upside down the damping oil falls out apparently.
Having said that, if the drive cable inner has a kink in it, or a rusted- up section that's stiff not springy or if either end of the outer is loose at the screw- in ends , then the needle will wobble , sometimes a lot
