Re: CArb balancing tool to loan please
I bought a set off ebay same as photo, thinking i could use them on the Z900 complete waste of money, def not worth buying the cheaper ones ie below £60. Even with the adjusment valves almost closed needles bounce around so much so they're unuseable.
You would be better borrowing a decent set from a member or pay more money to buy a decent set.
Hope you get sorted.
Think Warren suggested to get 1 good one then use it to check each of the 4 carbs individually, obv a bit more fiddly but worth consideration.

Those are questionable, best one with reasonable budget is morgan carbtune.

Re: CArb balancing tool to loan please
Ok then still looking for a decent set to borrow then please?
Re: CArb balancing tool to loan please
Theres some Morgan Carbtune ones listed on ebay at moment, think cheapest are £100 inc postage, but their upright tube type rather then circular gauge as in your photo.
If your carbs are anything like most posters on here then they will probably need constant fettling to keep at their best. So may be best tobuy a set.
Appreciate borrowing seems probably cheaper initially but when you factor in 2 lots of shipping with full insurance cover. Bet your nigh on halway to buying a set yourself, also because of the high cost of units and how some couriers treat packages sure owners reluctant to loan them for fear of loss or damage during transit.
I ended up taking mine in to a expert and got them set up correctly, firstly because the gauges i bought are useless, 2nd because even with the correct gauges you need a good skill set to adjust them correctly, but to do the job justice, you also need to strip ultrasonically clean, air blow through, replace worn components re build, set float heights accurately etc. Its a massive undertaking, any one of those incorrectly set can make a vast difference to bike running. Hence why i entrusted it to someone else.

Re: CArb balancing tool to loan please
Hi will only be doing the once then bike will be up for sale , think I will buy a set and afterwards put on here for sale everyone seems to say that the Morgan car tune are the best.
Re: CArb balancing tool to loan please
Cant honestly say whether their the best or not, but will certainly do the job, unfortunately most of the cheaper ones available wont and you dont know that until you buy them, then find out, despite their varying prices on Ebay, Amazon and Ali express suspect their all the same from chinese manufacturer and if anything like the ones i bought useless.
So yes if others have recomended Morgan i would get those, or if you can find a used set of original liquid damped gauges, they may well be an alternative.
