Gpz1100b1 rev counter not working

The chap who bought my b1 off me is having an issue with the rev counter. It has stopped working, I sent him another set of clocks and it still doesn't work. I can't see that two sets of clocks are faulty, any think of a possible fault as to why it doesn't work. He has checked the harness etc, so he doesn't think the fault is there.
