Just wondering what main jets people use with pod filters ? I've got an air corrector kit already just need a starting point, cheers.

A couple of sizes up from stock.

Hopefully you have quality pods that don't have a lip on the inside which blocks the air intake ports.

Short answer - Try 115 Mains with your Air Correctors.

As Warren3200gt says, a good quality set of filters is a good idea.
As Zed1015 says a couple of sizes UP on main jet. (I'd maybe start three sizes up)

Around 1980 I bought an Air Corrector Kit from a well known source. The Kit was sold / spec'd for a Z1000Mk2.
I got a set of 4 K&N's
4 x Main jets size .... 112.5
4 Air Corrector Jets (we measured the hole in the jets and found 0.5mm )
An M5 tap to make the screw threads for the air correctors.

The kit worked great.
I was using a Harris 4 into 1 with a race baffle.
Standard Mk2 carbs were 28mm
Pilot jet size was 15
Throttle slide cutaway sized 1.75
Original Main jet was 105 (I think)

I've tried to find the information about what jet sizes were supplied with the same kit for the earlier bikes but so far found nothing.

Personally I'd try 115 Main jets and start from there. You may find its a touch rich or maybe not. While you have the float bowls off, it's worth to check your pilot jet sizes - probably 15's but could be 17.5's.
IF you can get some 17.5's these might help.

N.B. Do you know if your Air Correctors were made for a Zed ? These jets come with different sizes for different bikes / carbs ! A set for a Z1000 is what you need.

These air corrector kits were sold with the claim of 6 to 8 BHP increase but in my honest opinion the only place you got this was down the pub on a Saturday night.

thanks guys, that'll give me a starting point. haven't got the filters yet but I know how they can block up intake ports. and yeah the corrector kit is for the z1000. cheers

I make these air correctors and you must not increase the pilot jet from stock.
All jetting and needle position should remain stock except for the mains increase.
Pods should be quality free flowing items such as K&N, S&B,APE, RamAir, Unifilter etc and not cheap chinese /no name rubbish.

If it had been in the Percy on a Saturday night it would have been 10 BHP. My bikes were always more powerful when I had a pint in my hand in that pub. Happy dayz.
