Hi All

This may be a daft question?

Are the seats inter-changable from A1/A2/A3 & A4? I.E, do they all align with the same seat pivot brackets on the frame?

Many thanks........

What model to you have ?
The Z1, Z1A and Z1B 1973 - 1975 - seats are interchangeable.
The following had a different seat lock to the above, Z900 A4, Z1000A1, Z1000A2 - 1976 - 1978 - seats are interchangeable, and can be adapted to fit the earlier bikes.

Different seat altogether on Z1000 Mark 2 (square tank and tail) - Z1000A3 and A3 - 1979 - 1980 - seats are interchangeable.

Thanks Adrian for the great response Sir. I have a bit of a bitsa bike with parts from all years. So basically I have a seat pan that I think is from a 1978 LTD bike, Now as the pan itself is in good serviceable order I want to use this and trim it up as an A2 seat. are the seat pans between the A1/A2 and Ltd all the same? Just the foam and cover being different? Many thanks in advance.....

The seat pan is the same for Z1000A1 (1978) : Z1000A2 (1978) : Z900 (1976) and Z1000 Ltd (1978) , all use the same seat lock and fittings.

Not sure how relevant to the seat pan but Philippe made some observations about A1 & A2 seat differences here:
