Hello all,
Is anyone able to confirm what size/thread these screws are please,
See image, the 2 screws in each dyna coil,
I have either lost mine or never had them.
While searching the forum for a answer I came across this image so thanks and apologies for pinching it.
They seem to be about m5 but not quite!
Thanks in advance
Stuart

Took the screw out of a disused green dyna coil and inserted a screw which I am pretty sure is m5. (KH400 switchgear screw) So you should be ok with m5 replacement - you should also use a split washer. For info the threaded section is about 8mm and the head of the screw is quite wide at about 9mm. Doubtless someone will be able to confirm.

Great, thanks for checking,
I didn’t want to mess up the thread by forcing a wrong screw in.

They are imperial 10-32 x 5/16 UNF.

Beaten to it.
10-32 x 5/16 UNF pan head screws
I have some here but they are longer and they would need cutting down to length if you want some?

Perfect,
Thankyou for the confirming, and appreciate the offer Gus,
I am pretty sure I have some screws of that size somewhere,
I knew m5 felt almost right !!!
Cheers,
Stuart

Very surprised at that - the M5 fitted absolutely perfect for the whole length.

I had a pair with no screw and m5 also fitted perfectly whole length. What is the difference in pitch in m5 and this is thread?

A number 10 screw has a theoretical diameter of 4.82mm and a pitch of 0.793mm so it’s slightly smaller than M5 in both diameter and pitch.
