If you wanna swop em out for some vm26ss which were standard for a 76 let me know.
Just been vapour blasted and given a sonic bath with polished caps and bowls.

A 76 is a z900 but those side covers are off a 75 Z1b, the carbs are Mikuni Smooth Bore 33mm.

The rear foot pegs look fairly low on the frame, is it a 76 kz900 Ltd?

So, what I know so far is it’s a 76 Z900 A4 going by the frame number UK bike registered 08/76 but the engine number starts KZ1#######KAWM which has thrown me a bit ? It’s a bit of a Heinz 57 with GPZ 1000 RX front end , rear wheel, JRC swing arm. Exhaust system is supposed to be a Harris 4 - 2 which I’ve never seen or heard of before? Previous owner had owned for 21 years and brought it pretty much as is. Going to change a few things such as the seat, looking for Cyclone,TwoFour, Giuliari if anyone has one? Paint work to change. It’s generally a really good running bike.

Well there is a lot going on there for sure, good starting point for sure, how does it run on the 33s? they are a bit finicky to tune but whats that with the engine number? A z900 would be Z1E10000, KZT00AE would be Z1000.

I haven’t ridden it yet, hopefully will give it a run tomorrow, engine sounds sweet though. Yes, the engine numbers have flummoxed me, would really like to know what it is from?

Could be a restamp..it happens but if its on the ownership and its legal then play on. Bike like that definitely has some hidden gems engine wise, could have big bore, cams, porting, cutback gears, welded crank who knows but the old owner.

Exhaust not Harris, yours is stainless and looks like an exhaust craft muffler, Harris are mild steel chromed.

Thanks Kev. Yes, I was thinking it wasn’t a Harris as I’ve got one on my Z1R, will have a look into Exhaust Craft ones.
