Managed to get the 2 halves of the speedo split ok but cannot work out how to remove the trip reset knob to separate them.
Any help / advice very welcome !!

Pretty sure it's a LH thread but you still need to gain access to the actual spindle to hold with pin-nose pliers.
Look for a hole in the base of the blue housing, if it's like others I've done the access hole allows you to lock the spindle with a small screwdriver so you can then undo the trip knob.

Thank you Fluff,
You were correct, it is a LH Thread and I did manage to get it off but it was well seized.
No hole in the base to stop the spindle turning so just a good grip with pointy nose pliers did the job.
Next question.............
Does anyone know what shade or colour reference the light blue inner metal casing is inside?
Looks similar to a Mk1 Cortina my old man had back in the early 70's.
Thanks in advance again for all help !
