Anyone know where I can buy M5*0.8mm pitch*10mm long slot headed/pointy ended grub screws from in Steel? :?: These are the screws that secure the choke lifting lever to the choke shaft on a Z1, different to all others.

I've found this site but surely I must be able to buy them in the UK.
See DIN 553 type.

Mike,
have a word with Steve Thomas, i gave him a bag of odd carb bits, when he came up a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if he's got what you want, but it's worth a call.

Try your local engineering supplies / bolt stockist.

DIN 553 is a slotted cone point grub screw, I'll see if there are any at work but we usually use socket heads.

Phil,
Thanks, I'll give Steve a call.

Rich,
If you come across any DIN553's I'll take em.

Hi Guys,

I managed to chew up a couple of grub screws while taking the choke lever off my carbs last week, and before creating a post I thought I'd have a quick scan through the old posts to see if anyone else had suffered the same problem.

Thanks to this post which gave me the DIN 553 code I was able to order 50 grub screws from ebay for the not so princely sum of £1.50, and they fit like a glove.

Your helpful advice is still helping 11 years down the line :D

Thanks again, Stu
