Re-spoke wheels. Any recomendations in the midlands

#1 PostAuthor: dwhitehouse » Sat Jan 31, 2009 5:44 pm

Finally got a clear day to try the new bike out today. First chance I've had in the two weeks I've had it.

Going great guns for 1/2 hour or so then notice the rear felt a bit odd, so stopped and discovered a puncture.

Anyway, got home but now need a new rear tyre

The spokes are looking very tatty and have been painted silver so I intended to get the wheels rebuilt at some point. Didn't plan on doing it yet but since the rear wheel is coming off anyway now I thought I may as well bring that plan forward a bit!

So can anyone recomend a suitable place near Warwick/South Brum who can rebuild the wheels?

I've used Central Wheel in Coleshill, Nr Birmingham.
Not cheap, but very good.

Ray Phillips & Son at Unit 3, Seven Stars Road, Oldbury, West Midlands, 0121 544 9060 just a couple of minutes from J2 of the M5. These will get original rims re-chromed as well seem cheaper also was going to get them to rechrome my a4 wheels.Cheers Paul J....
