VJMC meet at Box Hill tomorrow (12.05.19)

#1 PostAuthor: Paul Whitehouse » Sat May 11, 2019 10:42 am

A bit short notice, but there's a VJMC meet up at Box Hill tomorrow.
A few of us going from the Surrey / Sussex area.
If it's too loud....too bad.

What's DM been up to now Steve?

Personally I won't use them having heard too many horror stories over the years - I did use them in the early 80's for the paint set on my Z750E and they did an excellent job, not sure what's happened since but have a good idea.........

Andrew

Petrol tank paint started showing issues just 2 months after getting it back from them last year, which coincided with the hot weather we had last May (2018). By August it was becoming embarrassing as it had orange-peeled so bad on the top that I didn't want to take the bike out, which they said was due to me putting a (breathable) cover over the bike in my garage! Anyway, they took the tank back and simple sprayed a fresh clear coat over the orange peel and sent it back to me. It didn't last, as I knew it wouldn't, and so they've had to totally repaint the whole tank again (April 10th) and I'm still waiting for it to return.

Would I recommend DM? Not in a million years.

Ps: hope the VJMC meeting at Boxhill was good?

That's bullshit from DM, can't put a cover over it - WTF?!

By comparison, my paintset was done by Hutch last year and was covered for a 2 month stint over the winter with no issues - they're pissing on your head and telling you it's raining mate!

Tank arrived on Friday and is now fitted - just checking my petcock isn't leaking and I'm good to go for the B/Hol weekend.
It's been a journey!
