Hi Jerry,
Thanks for making my bike one of the choices.
I’m quite excited to have my baby on show. Wouldn’t have expected it but I guess it’s a good example of typical 80’s off the shelf customisation.
I’m gonna make a weekend of it and stay over.
Is there a hotel most people use, if so I’ll get it booked now.

Jim,

Most of us stay at Premier inn, either the Spitfire or Hurricane, doesn't really matter which one as they're next door to each other & surprisingly they still have rooms left.

I will be staying at Rugeley, only 10 miles away and Premier inn only £80 ish. I will also hopefully get in a spot of riding and running on Cannock Heath, whilst there.

Instead of simply having the first 10 who respond, why not have people put their bike forward by a closing date, then pick 10 that best represent the club?
You could be missing out on some nice bikes doing it your way.
Just my opinion.

Yep! same every year which is why i've had at least one or more of my bikes on the stand as backup every year for the past few.
Can't expect to turn up at the last minute with a bike when they are needed months in advance to ensure a full stand, not to mention the people who just don't turn up on the day with no warning and fuck the whole thing up .
Jerrys last post clearly states his eight "preferences" and two more bikes needed so either there hasn't been 10 bikes offered so far or some have been rejected which either way certainly means that it isn't a case of the first ten bikes being picked and nowhere does it say that all spaces have been filled.
Pretty sure Jerry isn't psychic so if anyone has a bike they'd like displayed they should actually say something instead of presuming all spaces are filled which isn't the case according to this thread and if that was the case then i'll happily pull any of mine to give someone else a shot.
Just make sure you actually turn up on the day or have the common courtesy to give a couple of weeks warning if you can't so that one of the more reliable members have time to fill the gap.

People don’t have to wait until Jerry puts out a call for bikes. you could ring him today and put your bike forward for consideration for next year, or if you’re working on a fabulous creation that will be ready for next year flag up that....

Passes will be sent out closer to the day if you are showing a bike or are one of the chosen few otherwise you pay like any other punter.
Bikes need to be on site well before they shut the doors on us on the Friday ( set up day ) around six pm so best get there earlier to help set up the stand and position the bikes.

I will be there from around midday along with all the truss and lights etc.

Always good to have some help to cart it all in and help with assembly.

I ask this every year, but no one seems to remember..... 17mm spanners!
