I've just read right back though this thread for the first time and noticed there are a couple of dissenting voices on having an RS on the stand a Stafford. Just to be clear , I am not pushing this and if the general consensus is that an RS is not appropriate I will willingly withdraw, no iff or buts or hard feelings.
I would however add that if that was the case the club needs to be clear where, in the Z ranges history the cutoff point is for acceptability to the club. Taking the club name literally, the last Z1 was the Z1B !!! ......just saying !

Any of mine are available as usual but with them all being modified they probably don't suit the theme but are there if plans change or needed to bring up the numbers.
I must say though that having a 900RS on the stand doesn't really fit in with the Z's lineage at all with it being neither aircooled or in any remote way a continuation in development of the same machine which to all intents and purposes ended with the 1100 unitrack that ideally should be included instead.
I personally don't think the 900RS relates at all to the focus of the club.

i totally agree but as its a celebration of 50 years & the current 900 is water cooled & fuel injected regardless of its advancement its still a bike that must be included. personally i would only choose to see the z1 as the start of the Z series & not z1a or z1b the next progression be the ltd version of the 900 engine. then Z1000 a models & so on through to the current models :?? :??

Good news.

We’re confirmed officially. Stand M46a in the main hall.

Can those who have offered bikes please message me with their registration numbers. Mortons need this for judging.

As far a I'm concerned the cut off date/model is the GPZ1100 Unitrac 1984, the last of the 2 valve air cooled big Kawasakis. After all it's the classic Motorcycle show and a Z900RS is not a classic (yet) Also while we're at it there will be no Buzzworkz trophy or prize money handed out this year as it seems to be all standard bikes and the whole point (of the throphy) is to promote modified engineered bikes and get peoples talent on show. everyone is entitled to their opinion Dave and its proof you will never please all of the people all of the time.

if you visit the stand over the weekend you might change your mind - maybe not.

As its the 50th anniversary a variety of bikes seemed appropriate. Next year could be whole different ball game.

I have been following this debate about the RS being included on the Club stand
I think the RS is a lovely bike it is not a classic and as such should not be on the Club stand at Stafford
Why do We need to show a modern bike along side 11 or 12 twelve classic Kawasaki bikes
For Me the word Classic should be just that
This is however just My opinion but if go down this route what next ZX10s and ZZR1400s?
way too many Zeds

Totally agree with Paul. Can’t understand why the Z900RS is to be included.

Cut off should be around 2005 as isn't this when they stopped making the police version?

see the poll in members section - if you have an opinion and you're a member you can vote for what you'd like to see.

The 10 bikes that will be on the stand have been registered with Mortons. I'll be in touch as/when I get more information from them.
