Japanese Classic Bikes meting 2022

#1 PostAuthor: Philippe » Sun Apr 03, 2022 6:54 am

Hello men

the Japanese Classic Bikes meting 2022 is set for may 15 th.
It'll take place at the inclined plane of Roncquières (Belgium). Some sort of ship elevator on the Channel Brussels-Charleroi.
It starts at 09.30 AM. For 5 Euro you can visit and participate.
It used to be a big event back in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 but then the location changed to different places and it lost momentum.
In 2020 and 2021 it couldn't happen due to reasons we unfortunately all know!
This year it's going back to its roots!
We'll have to wait and see what this edition will bring. Let's hope for good weather and a lot of enthousiasts.
I'm going there and I'll have a sales boot. I'll post some pictures of the event afterwards.
If you should be in the neighbourhood, just come along and say hello.
There will be food and drinks too.

Hi Steve

it's not IN but UNDER the ship lift. And I can assure you it's waterproof! It's a large waterproof concrete ramp where caissons filled with water lift ships from one side to the other side in order to overcome a distance of 1432 meters and an altitude of 68 meters.
I don't think you have that kind of device in the UK because the one at Roncquières is the largest in the world (until now).

So you're going to a vintage bike show, underneath a ship lift. Hope you have a great time. :D

But can you get a whole bike show underneath it?
