Weather permitting, would be good to meet up with some locals. Fatty Z1R and myself are aiming to be lolling around and finished browsing by 12.30 pm.

I have a feeling that there may be two bars there, really cant remember so could i suggest 12.30 p m at the ticket booth at the entrance gate and find somewhere to get in from the cold after that.

Anyone going to Kempton that is also going to Donnington?
I have a small parcel for London Calling which i would appreciate if someone could take with them if they are able.

Good to see you guys and lets hope someone takes up that challenge to organise the much talked about rally (Keefleaf and others)

Sure i got names and tags wrong and missed some out but with -2 degrees C in the windchill it was too cold to speak let alone think.
Sorry for ommissions.

Kempton as always was rammed... couldnt park couldnt move around. Buying was swift if a little sparse, bargains everywhere as usual. Some total festering crap and some not so. Very tatty KZ650 mostly complete £350 i was told and was passed up as a dead loss. A reasonable and increasing amount of jap stuff there compared to previous experience but a very limited amount of suitable Z based or other treasures worthy of purchase.
My biggest problem is, and its their problem too, is that i dont know what is the correct bit in a box of twenty, identical looking handlebar switches, horns, chainguards, headlights, and so on. Handy to put all the same items in the same box but no damn good to me if none of it is labelled. Must have seen 100 boxes of generic parts, and surprise surprise; no one looking at them at all. Their not going to sell them and i am not going to but them even if they have got exactly what i'm looking for. Ho Hum!

75% was the same broken barrells shot cranks and bantam cases that were there 25 years ago when i was going looking through that sort of stuff. Most of it laid out by the same people in the same locations as it was back then. Bet its all just rusted together into one homogeneous mass and they just crane it out of the van as one lump and stick it on the deck for people to trip over. The mind boggles.

A couple of good stainless stalls, many tool stalls, many more ancillaries' stalls ( plugs, pipe, hose, clips, fixtures, fittings, cable, wiring, fasteners, sheathing, lighting etc etc etc) and thankfully very few trinket and knick-knack stalls; hair grips, beads, handbags etc etc etc.

The Women's' Institute didn't turn up with their cake stall so Starvin Marvin (Fatty Z1R) didn't get a lick on Auntie Victoria's sponge.

Bernie seemed to be inundated all the while i was there but I didnt have four hours to say hellooooooooooooooooooooooooo so moved on Sorry Bernie.

Bought some stainless nuts..... went home.

See you for the next one.

AL.

P.S. Thanks Ludders for agreeing to take the package to London Calling at next weeks show.

¬Edited once to add another person to the above list.¬
¬edited a second time to add another name¬
'81 J1 now with added nuts!

What Al said, and just to add i`m still fecking pissed off that the WI were a no show, probably busy restoring their cake tins over winter ready for the forthcoming fete season. Oh well i`m sure it will be worth the wait/weight. :D
