but will leave them be for now.
As for clear lense indicators ! No thanx never liked them, don’t suit classic bikes.
Just need to plumb in Oil Cooler now!

If you look closely Mark, you'll see that the Z1R you bought has extender plates fitted to the original mirror mountings. Don't chuck them away as they are actually Sanctuary parts and cost silly money for what they are. I imported them from Japan and fitted them at the same time as the lower and narrower bars.

Although I agree mirrors do look a bit naff on any bike, I also think a good set of mirrors helps maintain the health of your driving licence. :D

Fred - noted!!!

Had a bit of spare time and tackled a few bits........ firstly fitted a manual cam chain tensioner. This involved removing seat, tank & carbs, so also swapped the blue fuel line for more subtle black braided rubber hose. Also fitted a set of mesh filters on bellmouths - did remove the fine mesh & nylon filter material sandwiched in between so not fully filtered, but keeps air flow up.

Next it was time to fit the oil cooler take offs - then plumb in the s/s braided hoses & AN connections.

Decided against the thermostat as the hose is 12mm, but barb connections only 10mm on stat

Got it all buttoned up and even had time for a brief test-ride this afternoon.

Still in 2-minds whether to swap the HT leads to a bland dark grey set :?:

I agree with your thoughts of changing the HT leads :!:

Can you get grey ones for DYNA coils :?:

keep the blue ht leads, they add a nice bit of contrast and compliment the paint work. they also have the added bonus of making the viewers eye look closer for the other features and details on the bike.

Well done Mark

I wasn't a great fan of the blue fuel hose either! I quite liked the blue Taylor leads though, I think they bring out the blue of the paintwork. Grey leads might have the opposite effect?

The old girl is looking good!

All the best

That's very nice Mark, though you don't need those carbs and should sell them to me...

It was worth a try...
It's a lovely thing though Piggy! I have to say that because I'm a (relative) youth I'm much more a fan of square Zeds (J/Z1R/mk2) and that one is just splendid! :)

Hello Piggy, not too bad ta, just lots of shit life stuff has happened over the last few years, so not done much with the Zed. Only raced it once in about 3 years, but hoping to do a bit later this year maybe. May get to the Ace Cafe for Kawasaki day, so will say hello if you are there.
Hope all is well with you.
