Wow these look great. Hopefully mine will one day. What type of Scotch pad do people recommend? I've used Autosol for donkey's years but never a Scotchbrite or similar. Are they good on fins?

Auto sol will start to polish the surface so I am wary of using it on fins and casing
I found scotch pads leave scratches on smooth surfaces I did wrap some around a screwdriver and used it with wd40 in hard to reach bits . I had good results with scrunched up tin foil and wd40 or degreaser.

Cheers thanks. I'll try a few of these techniques! No, I don't usually use Autosol on fins, just on the cases but mine are not too bad (actually the alternator cover was pretty beat up so I bought a new shiny one).

So after a five week postage wait , got some new seals to hopefully stop a weeping petcock... Not going to whack it back on until I have watched it for a while though... weather has been so good though, spent so long lockdown cleaning I am scared to get it dirty ....

Bikes been off the road since last September, been lockdown cleaning, new paint , new saddle cover , leaking petcock all sorted and had developed a possible blocked no1 carb , some fuel additive and a quick ride today seems to have unblocked it and running smoothly for now... great to be back out on it...,

So been running very woolly for a while so off to the Drs with it, rode around on a C90 with carb issues for two sunny weeks . Picked the bike up Saturday and pulled away almost on just the back wheel , from a flat spot 90cc to fully on song big Z is quite a step up

A eulogy I suppose

So after a few good years and a couple in lockdown I have to say goodbye to my third kz1000A1 …. They were all great, have always been the best looking bike in my eyes ,but Mr Miyagi was special and stunning, even more so when you think how much older the bikes became when I got them. My first was probably only 15 years old….deposit taken today and collection on Thursday … bloody gutted and I know I will want another , my daughters however will never let me back on a big bike after my last off…
Goodbye old friend it’s been the best of times miss you already

What a nightmare! Why have you sold it? You can damage yourself just as much on the little C90!

I have an A1 and I’m not sure I’ll ever part with it!

Don’t do it, you’re regretting it already!

Hope you’re alright and no damage done. My first Z1000 was 6 years old when I got her. And I still have her, will never part with my Zed thou.

I have two daughters who got really upset at the last incident (it was a bit closer than I care to admit) they have asked me to sell it … Can’t say no to them and hopefully they will sleep better
