My non standard Z1000A1
My non standard Z1000A1
My very non standard zed.
Owned it since 1988.
Bit like marmite, you’ll love it or hate it.
When I rebuilt it a while back I wanted it similar to how I had it back in the day with all retro add on’s

Very period - good to see... If you hate it you obviously weren’t there at the time
Personally I’d have kept the z1000 on the side panels white as a nod to originality

Re: My non standard Z1000A1
Who won the drag race
Re: My non standard Z1000A1
The drag race was very close.
My friend had slightly faster response times off the line but my z1000 had a bit more grunt than the z900.
It was 30 years ago but as I recall I won 2 out of 3 runs (just).
I think we were getting about 13 secs for the standing quarter with top speeds just over 110mph

And here’s the tattoo of my zed. A bit faded as it’s over 30 years old.
I drew the bike and my dearly departed mum drew the bulldog on it then I took the picture to the tattoo shop.

That'd be a great bike to have on the club stand at Stafford, along with all of it's history. Have you considered offering it for this years Stafford show?

I’d definitely consider Stafford in October but couldn’t do April as it’s a week before my wedding
I could put loads of history together.
Is it really good enough to show ?
What’s the process to get it in ?

Just reply to this thread......

For me it's about the history/background of a bike, not just how shiny it is.
As a club we don't do April, just the October show. We'll need your bike from Friday afternoon, until the end of show on Sunday. You will get a show pass if your bike is displayed. Most of us stay over for the weekend, most of which have been quite eventful over the years.
PM me if you want any more info.
