Regarding G or H prefix engine number I´d like to refer to the KAWASAKI Z1000H parts book:

G = Germany
H = rest of the world

All "German" Z1000H that I know have a "G" engine number.

that's interesting.

but given my German H has a chassis of 416 and an engine number in the 3xxx Rob may well have a point.

UK H chassis/engine numbers are both very close to 100

Sorry mate, I dont agree as shown in parts book. And as you say there are HE and GE engines in the H modell.

So GE does not relate to the G-frame US bike.

As far as I know that US "G" Fi modell, that odd soft chopper, has much less hp. I heared 75hp. Whereas the H modell has 98hp.

I have no idea how they reduced performance of the G modell.

I think Chrisu point proves my theory!, what kind of numbers are your German bikes?

The Z1000G bikes have exactly the same GE number identity as the ones installed in the German bikes.
I have seen a HE number of around 560 from memory, all of my bikes are under 200.

The reduction in horsepower or the Z1000G in the US would probably be down to the emission crap they installed on them. I have broken a few Z1000G engines over the years for parts, i recently did a complete swop from a GE engine into a set of HE casings that i had in storage.

Doesn't really answer the original question of how many are left though I guess

Not sure on that one, from memory all mine are low frame numbers pretty close to the engine numbers. The same H numbered frames were used on both HE and GE engine number bikes

That´s why I asked for highest frame number to get an idea how many H Modells were built.

We know that GE engine numbers are higher (4 digit in the 3xxx range). So is mine (35xx) in frame no. 379.
German bike.

I checked my records and I actually have two high frame numbers 790 and 791 with HE engines 48x and 48x (two digits apart), both original UK bikes.
The rest of the frames are under or around 200, some under 100, the engines are under 200, most are between 10 and 100.
