Hi, just to prove all the harassments I've caused over the last few months was not in vane (and thanks for all of the expert help I have received).
Still a few issues to solve, but at least I can just about get her round the block annoying the neighbours.

Where did you get the chrome chain guard from ?
I had one of those on my original J back in the 80s but can't seem to source one now.

The chain guard isn't chrome its powder coated gun metal grey. TBH it came in the box of bits but it had to be persuaded to fit.

Did that bike come from Scotland originally, I went to see one very like it a good few years ago, the colour scheme was very similar, should have bought it!

No it came from across the water..the Isle of Wight..
No I got the paint done, the bike was 3 colours when I got it.
I saw the design on Google Images and just thought it suited it.
