modified z650/750 turbo

#1 PostAuthor: j.b » Sat Jan 23, 2021 1:41 pm

thought I should share a recent photo of my 1977 z650, which a few people will recognise, as she underwent a minor refurb last winter.....

The engine was starting to look tiered, 3 years of riding to North Wales in February for the Dragon Rally didn't help! so I rubbed it down and repainted along with the side cases. I had also had a new Garrett turbo 'tuned up' by Midland Turbo with billet wheels etc, so this was fitted and the stainless steel exhaust and Kerker endcan polished back up again. Looking forward to getting it on the dyno again at some point to see the improvement with the new turbo, it certainly feels lively enough.
I've also invested in some YSS rear shocks, these work extremely well too.
Cheers, Jon

Lovely looking piece of kit. Does it ever stop raining there long enough to get the turbo kicking in properly :D

Ayup Mark, that was a fab weekend watching the Endurance Legends, sorry I missed you mate......It was the first track day outing for my moto martin gsxr which broke down, mid session, thankfully i'd also taken the old zed as a backup so that ended up being thrashed around instead.
Good old zed
