Hi guys thought id show the last couple of years work on what started as a frame and engine sitting on a shelf in my garage. the Rickman frame was bought from fleabay about 6/7 years ago ,i started to collect bits and pieces over the years but as with all things Rickman the small parts to actually make the thing complete are like hens teeth and searching the world for parts was a mammoth task with very little reward.
A chance meeting at Stafford classic with Malcolm Sheperdson of Metal Malarkey Engineering who had a Rickman on his stand from Motorcycle Mechanics magazine, a Rickman Suzuki 500 twin that was being built for Steve Cooper of the same magazine.
I asked if Malcolm had knowledge of Rickmans and he told me he made the frames for one Pat French before he passed away and sold the business. Pat purchased the rights to build the CR and metisse frames when Rickman folded.
As a consequence of the meeting i took all of my parts in various bins up the Malcs engineering shop in Shropshire and he agreed to make me a bike from what i had . the pictures attached tell most of the story ,it has not been an easy trip , but ive ended up with a very unique piece of engineering done to my taste , i know it wont be to everyone's taste but i like it.
Cheers
