Hi all, this is my 76 Z900 wearing its Z1b clothes and is relatively new to me.I hope to upgrade the front brake to twin disc, add some engine bars and maybe just maybe fit a 4 into 1 system

Hi Steve

a very nice bike, congratulations!
Adding a second front disk is a good idea, changing the 4 in 4 for a 4 in 1 is not such a good idea.
Others on here would do anything to obtain an original exhaust.
If there are holes in your exhaust I would understand your plan. If the exhaust is good, just keep it.
Greetings from Belgium.

Cheers and welcome from another Steve. I'd agree with Philippe as far as keeping your 4-4. It was one of the many features that gave these Zed's their unique style.

Thanks for that Steve, it was always a maybe but as seems to be the opinion here the original system does look lovely

Welcome, nice bike.

Those 4 into 4s look nice, but zeds sound like zeds when they're running a 4 into 1. Took the decision not to restore the original 4 into 2 on my Z1000a (admittedly the old 4 into 4s are much nicer than z1000 pipes) and fit a vance and hynes instead just because it's my bike and it needs to have the right soundtrack.
