Well New Project time!

I think that dummy engine may be based on my old crankcases. My original bike had cases with no engine numbers so I bought used Mk II ones from the US. Harris used the original cases when they modified my Z900 frame. I was so pleased with their work that I left them the cases for dummy/jig use and also gave them a gearbox output shaft so they could fit a sprocket and align chain runs. They must have sourced a surplus head from somewhere as well.
Nice to think that a surplus part from my project is helping other people with theirs.
Bike is looking great BTW and I really like the proposed tail unit.

Rear wheel has now been blasted and checked all goo, a couple of little marks but these will be covered with gold powder coat anyway.

Just a quick one on another subject.
I'm restoring a RG400 at the moment and as all my resto's I want everything just right, as we all do.
The swinging arm has been rubbing on the exhaust and over the 28 years the silencers have been bit and have dents and scrapes. I thought I'd be able to weld them up and then sand them down but the ali is far too thin, so I had them remade and am very happy with the results.
If you know anyone with a RG400/500 can you let them know as you can't get them anywhere in the World, I spent a couple of month trying!

Just rang Harris for a progress report!
Was put on to Steve Harris who has been over looking the job"
Steve is the one who recommended the tail unit, well, he was talking about the tail unit and said that with fitting these it means that there would be a gap between the tank and the top frame! I told him that he was the one who recommended the seat and I was not paying anymore money to alter the fooker! There was mention of a MK4 tank (yer right) but this was quickly discounted! So Steve is going to look through the stores as they have an infill for the tank as it's happened prior!
I can honestly say that at the moment dealing with Harris from the other side of the World has been quite frustrating, very informative and funny.
I would not have a problem recommending them if your not in a rush!

Ah.... I was going to ask what tank you were going to use with that seat
If Harris come up with an infill please demand pictures as I'd love to see if it's a valid option (I'm still staring at my Magnum 2 bodywork and wondering if that's really what I want... but if I don't I'm in the same position as you tank wise).

No problem I'll let you know as soon as I find out.
Here's a couple of pictures, love getting pictures, great to turn the computer on in the morning to pictures of bikes and parts!

The rear sub frame is nearly complete and they have had to do some work on the headstock.
Steve from TPCS has also finished, so the wheels will be back to Harris this week, its all coming together!
I've also sold my car and have to wait for my new one to be brought up from Melbourne, so been using Eddie to get me to work, very enjoyable!

Here's the pictures of the frame.

Also got some bits back from the painters, these are for the Walter Wolf I'm restoring at the moment, quite happy with the finish, supposed to be anodised but I couldn't match the colour so had them painted with a slight hint of candy, come out good!

I mentioned this to Steve Harris last night, also said to Steve that there are a few people who would buy the infill if he made them again, he said he would have one made within a few days and it would look good!
Give him a ring and say you had a chat with Ian from Australia

Very small update!
Been recommended a bloke called James to rebuild the WP shock, has had a good review so I have got Harris to send the shock to him.
I'll post some picture after he has finished, but here's what it looks like now

Oh well, looks like quite a bit of activity this week!
My new exhaust system is starting to take shape, its going to run as close to the frame as possible with the end can designed to look similar to ones that they sold the rights too
Good old school design.

Another picture sent from Steve.
Like the way the system is coming, that what I wanted a true 80's Harris style exhaust!
Very happy, don't know what going on with the black and white picture, very 'moody'
