Whats the black paint you are using for the switch gear? I have some to do and want to get the right stuff, (not high gloss).

Hi Gary, I use Simonize tough black satin finish , use it on the engine as well

I like the little plaque to cover the frame mod, very nice.
Looking at the throttle cables Ray, I don't think the adjusters will go in the guide tubes on the HSR. When I make cables for bikes with a HSR, I put the adjuster about 2/3rds along the new cables and just a standard outer end ferrul to go into the guide tubes.

Thanks Steve ,

fired her up today and had her idling away and revving sounding great, the spitfire must have given her some luck , not taking it much above 4k rpm , as havent even set the ignition timing properly yet , so thats was really great other than the chrome on the header blistered to hell in less than a minute - had a bit of a read up , copper base will do this and all show chromers love copper , so it will be nickel or ceramic - but will do that once everything set up and ironed out , may just go turbo x black ceramic from cam coat

the blistering is a cosmetic thing , if it wouldnt start or had a calamity it be up for sale cheap!

That's a real shame about the blistering chrome Ray... that's why I always double nickel plate all the turbo pipework, as on the prototype. Even when it goes blue, you can simply polish it back to bright nickel no problem. Better than ceramic I think personally.

I know I just love the look of chrome header with blue , they will have it tomorrow by 1pm and I’ve asked for it back before 1 week
Friday , it took about 4mins to come off so there was no point in liking at it , away to fit up brakes , once brakes are done and exhaust done it’s bodywork.

PS the chromers actually said sometimes copper does that on really hot exhausts - I think it’s called out gassing , why on earth they did copper when they knew it was turbo gear ..

Ray - It was an absolute pleasure to get No.8 up and running and also to see the "old girl" again (prototype I owned for many years).
Thank you so much for your overwhelming hospitality over the weekend, laughter and friendship, a brilliant weekend indeed, made only sweeter by the accompanied purchases.
See you soon and hope you can do something with the front mudguard on your course.
Will
