Re: Gpz1100B2 restoration
Hello Philippe,
regarding injectors: I had mine (GPZ1100B2) cleaned and ASNU tested to make sure they all do the same. They got new filters and fuel line together with those black holders.
Actually having done the same with those from the Z1000 H.

Hi guys
since the weather forecast predicted warm and dry weather I decided to get the wheels painted.
They were degreased with aceton and this morning it took me about 3 hours to tape them off.
This afternoon I sprayed them outside and took them in my workshop to dry. I do this because good and warm weather means also BUGS ! Nobody likes bugs in fresh paint so the front and back door were opened in order to create a bit of a draft and bugs don't like that.
The wheels are painted and bug free!
I'll put new bearings in and new tyres on and then I can mount the brake discs. If you put new tyres on the wheels yourself, always remove the discs so you don't damage them.
Soon more to come

Re: Gpz1100B2 restoration
As mentioned in a previous episode I reassembled the injectors . I took the parts in the laundry room ( with permission of the misses !) and started to reassemble them.
It worked out good and I was able to get a decent set of injectors.
Those injectors consist of many parts, a lot of electric wiring and rubber hoses.
The piston rings came from Germany and were mounted on the pistons.
When the barrels were fitted I was able to mount the engine in the frame and to put the cylinderhead on.
The valve timing was set and checked several times before putting the cover on and then it was time to install the camchain tensioner. Don’t install the camchain tensioner before putting the cylinderhead cover because it will disrupt the timing.
After that it was time to install the injectors. A hard job but I succeeded.
Before I forget it: put the throttle cable on the injectors before installing them.
It took me more than two hours of time, a painfull wrist and fingers and allmost a nervous breakdown to install that cable!
There’s absolutely no space or direct sight to put the throttle cable on once the injectors are mounted on the cylinderhead.
Other parts were ordered at CMSNL, the Battlaxe BT45 tyres were mounted and the GPz was on her wheels again.
Now it was time to do some paintwork.
The usual preparation was done on the bodywork: grinding, grounding with epoxypaint, putting putty on, grinding again, painting with “firecracker red” paint, putting the decals on it, giving the parts an overspray of clearcoat…
Today she’s allmost finished and the engine is running. ( the yellow color comes from the sunshine, the fuel tank IS red!)
I only need to synchronise the injectors to get her running smooth and stable but that will have to wait until the shops open again because I need long fuel hoses.
I’m still looking for a decent original B2 exhaust. I mounted a Uni-Trac exhaust in order to make her run but this one will be replaced in the future.
So if any of you have an original exhaust or parts of it don’t hesitate to contact me.

Hi guys
thanks a lot for the compliments!
I'll put some more pictures if you like that but it'll be when the sun is out. Within a few days they'll arrive.
I ordered an original B2 exhaust on fleebay this morning, one part comes from the UK, another from Germany...wait and see when they're mounted.

Looks super Philippe, great work.
Do love the B2 (had one new back in the day - loved that bike) and yours now looks a lovely example

Hi Philippe,
Your bike looks excellent, I see you sprayed the wheels to the original red spec, is red on the wheels firecracker red as per the tank or something else. I just about to spray mine and would like to spray them to the original colour.
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian
The paint was made by my usual supplier and it's ment to be firecracker red.
The paint is a two component epoxy paint and is named "DEUTZ Red".
It's applied directly to the bare aluminium after degreasing it ofcourse.
I hope this informatio can help you.
Good luck with the paintwork!
