First start up successful.
The ignition needs setting up, it is a boyer bransden and some new fuel pipe.

I removed the Boyer Bransden and refitted as per instructions. It says to set the full advance at 5000rpm, with a strobe.
I will get a couple of hundred miles on the engine first.

The startup went a lot smoother this time. It cannot be far off.

Just set it at the stated 5000 rpm now - that won't do any harm in a fresh motor, especially as it won't be under load, wrong ignition timing is more damaging.

Looks good by the way!
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Checkin torqe settings for mot Monday. Rear spindle was in wrong way round.
Have corrected this, working my way through rest of bike.

Hi Dunlop 4

congratulations that your bike passed the MOT.
Are you sure that the fork stanchion has no pitting, that causes the fork seals to leak, even after a short time.
Hope you can find a solution for it and that you can enjoy your ST.

Took the ST for another shake down run today, up to 400miles. Engine starting to loosen up.
Oil is leaking from the top of one of the fork tops.

Agree with Paul, they're an under-rated Zed.
Unfortunately had to sell my Z1000ST at the weekend as it wasn't being used, and I need the space for another Kwaki project.

She's a lovely ride and I'm sure the new owner will enjoy her.
