Two months since project posted.

#1 PostAuthor: Andy M » Fri Jul 18, 2025 9:07 pm

I noticed it has been 2 months since anyone has posted their projects. Clearly a sign of the times . Prices dropping in the classic bike market and no sign of it stopping. People are obviously holding back or having second thoughts on starting one.
A part of the forum that was always thriving has ground to a halt . Summertime was always slower obviously but not as slow as this has been.

I have 8 projects on the go right now, 2 Z1b,2 Z1r, 3 z1000 A1/A2, z1000 shaft, Gpz1100, on top of that I have a bandit 1200, xv1600 and a shadow1100 as well being rebuilt and a few other Kawasaki on the back burner for next year. I don’t post any any more cause I don’t want to be “that guy” the hardest part is finding parts right now. Everyone who has anything left think it’s worth four times what it is, I buy 90% of what I need from Japan. Because Ireland is a unique environment we have to pay duty on pretty much anything coming over the border from the UK from the states or from Japan, so regardless we have to pay duty on it so I can choose what country I’m buying from based on how much its gonna cost to get here rather than whether I have to pay duty on it. I became semi retired this year after working my back off for 30 years the projects are more to keep me sane and focused than anything else.

Last weeks work.

And this week is about finishing frames into paint. I’ll keep tipping away in the background. I’m sure many are too. The addiction runs deep.
