Well dug out the set of 24s and they are looking pretty rough! Will get on them this weekend.. see how they turn out.
On another note I’ve been figuring out what I need to do with the back sprocket and looks like I need to come in 5mm so that’s sorted. But need to decide on a ratio to use! So suggestions welcome. 17” rear wheel, 750 engine, stock. Just going to be for some short runs etc..

Re: Z650 Special Revisited
Managed to get a day on carbs today, did some plating and cleaning and looming nae bad! Bought a carb rebuild kit which is total garbage of eBay.. Apart from the gaskets all useless, so will still need to order a few bits. But happy with the progress.

Nice job on the carbs
Looks like a bit of hard work ! What did you use to shift the black paint ? I've a clutch cover here I've coated with Nitromors twice now but it seems the modern stuff just doesn't work - its only rattle can black I'm trying to shift - it'd be quicker to just scratch the paint off with my finger nail.... It looks like you did better than me ! Just wondering what you used

Hi Dave, I used some sort of paint stripper to start, I can’t remeber what brand to be honest, it took a fair bit off then I remover the remainder with my magic dremel and small wire brush. Still removing the pieces of wire from my skin now 6 months later

Hi All
Not posted for a while so thought I would update. It’s progressed a good bit. I built my first ever scratch built wiring loom, well happy with it as it’s a tenth of the size of the factory one and has all the functions I needed. (Ignition and lights) lol. Any nice to haves were junked. Kitted out with the finest of cheap shit switch gear we will see how long the last bit it’s coming together. All I need now to fire it up is a mechanical advancer as I can’t fine one anywhere.
Remaining jobs - Rear Brake Caliper. Brake lines all round. For filters and chain. Very close! Be ready to put away for winter lol.
