It runs !!
Look here the tacho sits at 1000rpm ticking over.

Image

After a run of good weather everything is put back together and the bike is back on the road again.

Image

It starts and runs very well but must be run in ( new Wiseco kit fitted )
but there are still a few issues to sort out.
There is quite a glitch at 2000rpm - 2500rpm
Exhaust is blowing slightly
Brakes need bedding in especially the rear ( a bit like squeezing a plank of wood with a pair of pliers )
Tyres are 15 years old and need replacing with some BT45's
Horn does not work

Image

Next job is to set up the injection properly with vacuum gauges ,adjust throttle sensor position and check engine temperature sensor is working
correctly

Image

I must say I am very pleased with the end result. It has a few non standard parts like the exhaust, indicators and seat that came with the bike
and the rear m/guard and stripes on the fairing are personal preferences.

Image

It is not an 1100R and will never be one but these days a firecracker red B2 seems to be rarer than a lawson replica so it will stay like it is .

Image

If I was to suddenly have a spare €1000 a black Harris / Kerker would be nice and a Metmachex swing arm to replace the original would look good but at the moment it is a great feeling to be on the road again.
Hopefully I can everything sorted in time for July so I can zoom up the autobahn to Kassel for the 40th birthday bash for the Z1 and maybe one day soon can bring it back to England to try out my favourite roads in Devon again.

Image

All the best to everyone on this super forum.
Richard

Talking of Kerkers, I can only recommend to keep a close eye on German Ebay, I paid 63 Euros for a stainless V&H a year ago and around 40 Euros for a Star megaphone (which looks just like a Kerker)...
There's no replacement for displacement!
