I have to say, if I found them too hard to get in the frame, I'd consider them too hard to force my panels into.

New ones are a lot cheaper than panels and a repaint.

Hello all - hope everyone had a great break, time on their bikes etc.

I've finally had time to attack my loom. I'm making it from scratch but had a few question if I may!

On the Reg/Rec, of the WHITE, BROWN and BLACK wire, which its earth, which charges the battery and what does the 3rd do?

What rectifier is it Ratch? I fitted a GPZ750 one and it had three yellow wires that connect to the three wires coming from the alternator on the rh side of the engine, the other two were earth and power out.

Its an aftermarket one for a Z650/750.

The three yellows are obvious - but the the black brown - which is earth and which is charge?

And what's the extra white wire for?

Got it in the USA of its any help...

My guess is that the white will be permanent live, the brown switched live & the black earth, but it would be best to confirm this with the supplier. :??

Aarrgh.

I bought it almost a year ago.

I also have a silver Electrex one which of course has DIFFERENT colours on it.

Surely the colours must tally up with a USA spec loom or something...

I thought brown was earth in Automotive? Certainly is in cars...

Ratch,

Looking at a Z1000 wiring diagram from the same era, Black with yellow trace is earth, brown is a 'switched' live & white is the main feed from the battery +ve.

Any manufacturer markings on the reg/rec you have?

The black has no tracer - just black.

No markings but I might be able to find the transaction somewhere - it was an online purchase.
