[quote="coldsummer"] I was wondering if the footpeg hangers were original as they seem quite 'rearset' when sat in the bike. I haven't owned one before so hard for me to tell, I'll have to compare with pics of other standard bikes.
Hi again
I was really talking about the REAR pegs - your frame has been altered by welding on shorter tubular sections to create 'smaller triangles'.
The FRONT pegs are indeed rearsets, the originals sit much further forward to match up to the upright riding position set by the high bars. If you went with low or even drag bars, those rear sets could stay maybe?
This is the standard set up...

That looks bloody lovely!!! My favourite colour too (although recently I've been liking the yellow/green). I should stick with the Z1b colours but I prefer the earlier schemes. Inspires me to get on with mine, although I doubt it will anywhere near as good as that!

Update.
I ordered some new plugs, carb repair kits and fuel lines from Z-power today. Couldn't get Nippons so I'll try the NGK's. Need to get a new battery too. I decided to try and start it before pulling it about. Thinking I should change the oil too before (hopefully) firing up?
Had a bit of a mad day, ordered a new JMC (as my dear old dad used to say "Boy, if it's worth doing, its worth doing well") and some shiny bits from the States. Ker...ching££££!
I'm working this weekend but might get a couple of hours to fiddle. I really must sell my Hornet and Speedmaster to release funds.
Another thing, OF COURSE it has rearsets fitted don't know why that wasn't immediately obvious to me? The thing is, I kinda like it, might keep them even with the high bars.
The biggest thing that is troubling me is the colour scheme even though the final decision is a long way off. I'm drawn towards the Z1b candy blue/gold just to keep it close to it's heritage, but I had always planned to go with the earlier Z1 or Z1a green/yellow. Maybe I will go for a unique one-off?? Can't decide

Don't rush the project... JMC may take a good 12 months or so
Good point. I am a bit manic at the moment, but I have been blessed with two opposing character traits, laziness and impatience. They usually cancel each other out quite nicely. Expect long periods of inactivity followed by bursts of action on this project!
JMC quoted 14 weeks but I have a friend who has waited much longer. We'll see.
