Some 'nice' scoring there.
Can you feel the scores with your fingernail? If so then a rebore is prolly the best way to resolve. At least you know it'll be right.

Time for a bit of an update on this project.
I decided to have a rebore and as the engine was at .5 already i got a set of 1.00 pistons. After doing a leak test in the head that didn't look too good either so the top end is all in the care of Graham Slter of Diptune at the moment.

With Graham building the topend it seemed sensible to let him put the engine together so yesterday i started to remove the bottom end from the frame.
After some wrestling with the shaft drive coupling and a little advice from my good friend Nigel at AVC i got it disconnected and then removed what i guess you'd call the trans casing...

I did find the nut and the end of the shaft in there as well. The nut looks like it's never been off so why it's broken is a mystery

Who knows why, but good job you stripped it. Shouldn't be too hard or expensive to pick up an ST output shaft, or indeed a complete bottom end might be more cost effective.

Don't recognise it as something from the drive part, so would need to refer to the manual.

I spoke to Graham down at Diptune yesterday and he said he had an ST bottom end so i'm going to take my bottom end over to i'm and let him get on with it.

As for the 'liitle fella' i couldn't see anywhere obvious that he'd come from. I'll keep looking. By the feel and condition of the trans case bolts it did seem as if it had not been off before....

Still i have a feeling that Phillippe will probably recognize it straight away.....

it looks like one of the 6 selector drum pins, but the counter-sunk screw is still in place!?
