Great rebuild. I had one of those airfilters in the late 1970's and could never get the carbs setup to work with it. Looks nice though.

Orb, great looking machine. I see you have the original Z1 series motor, just can't make the engine number out. Looks like 1973 Z1E-18000 odd. Did it have the hollow cam-shafts and was it black inside originally?

I did the carbs by my self, degreased and cleaned by Ultrasonic Cleaner, and finished by polishing The casing was done by a guy here in Norway. They're wapourblasted and nothing more Exellent result

Beautiful work , I was going to ask you about the casings , how you got the finish so good too .There used to be a guy in the UK who did good work but I haven't heard about him for a while (Steve Smethurst)

Steve Smethurst cleaned my Z1B engine cases recently and they are superb, turned them around in 48 hrs, pricey at ?220 but worth it when you see the end result.
The finish should last as well, vapour blasting gives a nice uniform matt finish but has an open texture that traps dirt, Steve vapour blasts then burnishes the cases in steel/ceramic balls, this gives a nice sheen and removes the open surface thus ensuring that the finish stays clean. I'm not sure that we talk about the same My casings is wapourblasted, but is sealed to oil and fingermarks. During the mounting of engine, my experience was that the casing was easy to keep clean. Just dry towels and nothibg more to wipe of fingermarks of oil and molycote It's possibly done some more to my casings, but I understood that it was wapourblasting and nothing more
