Outrigger test fitted.



Spacers all polished by Mikey....... Of course.



Sprocket is fairly exposed.
And I don't like the idea of chain lube being flung around.
So I have this carbon fibre cover to squeeze in, although it will take a bit if fettling.



Also knocked up this threaded spacer to fit between the top of the outrigger & outside of the top rear engine mount. Threading it means I can screw a standard length rear mount bolt in from one side & a much shorter bolt from the outrigger, avoiding having to source a super long single bolt. It'll soon be with Mikey, for a bit of his magic.

theres a purpose made bracket ,bit like a engine plate that attaches to the top right hand corner of the outrigger plate & fixes to the frame were the engine mounting plate bolts go through the frame for added strength against flex avaliable

Very nicely coming along Steve,

my outrigger is much more exposed from the side and I find that the lube does not tend to fling up towards starter as S13 advises however it does fling downwards but not that you really noticed as it seems to nicely clump up and with all parts in the area being black coated helps with that perception!

I also looked at putting some sort of covering bracket on top however it does not seem to need it, so you could try it out and see what happens.

As Neil has hinted there may be something out there already

After taking on board the advice offered, I'll leave the carbon sprocket cover off for now.

Picked up a new 530 chain from Dennis Trollop Racing this week, who told me he had underpriced them, but would leave them at that price for now as it's winter & things are quieter.... Grab a bargain!

Also picked up some anodising from Mikey.

I had him re-anodise my cam chain tensioner, then drilled & tapped it to fit an M4 grubscrew as I didn't have any roll pins to hand. Looking at the pic, I'm thinking I should have had the nuts re-zinced....





I also got my polished & black anodised torque are back;



Just needed to modify an M12 bolt to fit it.

Started with this......



Shortened it & turned it down;



Threaded it & turned off the markings on the head;





Left it long enough to drill for a castle nut, but may end up using a nyloc. We'll see.

I get some pics 4 u ,also u need a longer rear upper engine mounting bolt that passes throu the outrigger plate & bracket that sits in the recess on the outrigger plate & ties it all together

on another score ive some rear sets similer to those fitted on the bike & when I opened the packet & the nuts fell out I thought they must of packed em by mistake,looking at the pics I c were they go now ,but youd expect some nice flush allen head bolts etc to match the quality of the rearsets to come with them

Neil, I did feel a little 'underwhelmed' with the rearsets..... Even more so when TLC said his 'rattled' apart. I would have loved to have kept the Harris rearsets I started with, but they just wouldn't clear the exhaust..... And that is staying!

I got my wheels back yesterday & enjoyed removing all the masking to reveal the finished articles. Today I thought I'd have a bash at tyre fitting.

There are plenty of YouTube videos showing how to do it with cable ties, so that's what I did.

First off, I 'lubed' up a new valve.....



Then pulled it in with this very handy tool, using a piece of wood, so not to mark the rim....



Done....



Next was to fit cable ties to the tyre, so that the two beads touch...



Lubed up with tyre soap, it slips easily over the rim......



A gentle push & I was amazed how easily it fell onto the rim. ...



After removing the cable ties, the tyre regained it's shape....



Over inflated them to seat the beads & there you go...... Job done!
Once the wheel bearings arrive I'll be able to balance 'em.

Had some 'grief' with the size of me 'easy clutch'......... It fouled the chain.



Does stick out a lot more than the stock item....





Removed all the 'hardware' & screwed it to a piece of wood, sandwiching some ally between....



Masked it all up, then used a 32mm hole saw (same size as existing opening) to give me a centre in the ally plate to work with.





With my centre sorted & everything clamped down, I 'set to' with the 40mm hole saw (No milling machine here )





Easy clutch now sits outboard & works a treat, once I'd modified my 3rd & final clutch pushrod.



Plenty of clearance now.....
