Happy days!

Spotted these cams on ebay at DK spares.
Listed only as "Z900 CWC high lift cams with some water marking and might need a regrind".

They looked ok to me on the pic's and maybe not too wild so took a cheeky throw away punt at the £29.99 starting bid expecting not to win .

Well! To my suprise no bugger else bid (probably due to the iffy description) and i won 'em :D

They turned up this morning and result.
Norris .407 lift fast road cams in near perfect nick, an absolute bargain :up .
Couldn't have asked for a better cam to go with the engine and carb mods so once the exhaust is finished it's out with the std jobbies and in with these.

Yippee!

cams

I looked at those but there was no info so I didn't both, you've had a right result there. Very similar to Andrews 3X cams, a good size cam and you can still run shim on top. Buzzard.
Every man should have a shed (for bikes obviously..)

Yes! Can't believe DK didn't put a better description.
They clearly have 'Norris Cycle .407' engraved on them.

Not much progress as have been busy with other things but have had time to fashion a low profile oil filter cover.

Std cover on left and a slimmed down one on the right.
Center has been recessed to take an 'O'ring and the head of the bolt.

I machined the chewed head off a spare filter bolt and turned up a flush style one which was pressed on to the now stepped shaft of the old bolt.
A hole was drilled in the end and a hex recess broached in to take an allen key.
I sweated some sifbronze around the join to be 100% oil tight (not really needed) which was then machined flush and also ran some over the head and faced it off to leave a rust resistant finish.

In situ. Sorry for the blurry pic but you get the idea.

Easier said than done.
I've already been out on the Zed on a day trip to a rally last week and plan on camping at the squires meet next month even though i'm not supposed to even ride a treader for three months.
Driving me crazy sat about doing nowt, if I had any hair i'd have torn it out by now

Don't rush the recovery Rob plenty of time for riding when you are fully fit.
