Bloody hell Rob...... Don't mess about!

I'd be interested to know what it weighs now you've not got anything on it it doesn't need :?

Motor all back together and ready to fire with new 1075cc Wiseco's and yet another head gasket etc.

While waiting for the barrels to be bored I took the opportunity to make a guard to protect the carb inlets from muck throw up from the tyre.
After a bit of head scratching I came up with this little lot .

Rubber grommets and top hat sleeves locate in the frame gusset holes

And the suitably shaped alloy guard simply bolts on

Reg/rec has been re-located on to the inside of the guard as there was a lot of heat radiating from the engine to it's original position under the tank.

That should hopefully keep the muck out.
Just need to give it a paint or polish along with a few other brackets that need finishing and it's just the motor and charging to finally sort out.

All finished and running :D
Front mudguard brackets now painted black and other loose ends sorted.

Charging system appears to be working now and the engine is still in one piece so far
Just waiting for a sensible insurance quote so I can get it Mot'd and out on the road to set it up.
Will post some better pic's when I get the chance.

Well done Rob, some lovely engineering on this project, I have enjoyed it.
So what's next then?

Wow! I stand in awe of your talents.

....and I quite like the front brake line that attaches to the exhaust. Is there some clever valve that detects a closed throttle and applies the brake?

Thanks.
Was hoping that brake line would go un-noticed
It doesn't touch the exhaust but it is a little long, I plan to either make up a shorter one or a put some sort of tag on the mudguard to hold it in place .
I only used it because it's all I had and it came with the calipers.

All taxed tested and released into the wild :D
Took it for an 80 odd mile shakedown run after the trip to the MOT and nothing needs doing.
Perfect straight out of the box, timing, jetting ,handling all spot on, can't believe it.
I,m either very lucky or I sort of know what i'm doing
Bloody thing goes like a scolded cat.
Weighed the back and front separately for the brake test and it's 102kg front and 93kg rear which apparently is on par with an R6 so it's got to be well under 195kg all in.
Still got a weird charging gremlin though coz shortly after these pic's the battery suddenly went dead on the ride (thrash) back and I had to push it 1/2 mile home.
Some thing not right with the lith battery or race alt but when tested it shows charge .bloody odd ?
Might throw it all in the bin and make my own set up, at least I know it will work then.
